It was last week that Carlos Ghosn, then chairman of Nissan, was detained by police due to the misconduct allegations filed against him. Soon after, Nissan dismissed him from the company as well. Now, the industry tycoon has denied the misconduct claims that have been filed against him. According to media reports from Japan, Carlos Ghosn has denied many of the misconduct claims, including the false reporting of his earnings. Although he has not spoken publicly, some sources have indicated that the Nissan-Renault alliance leader had denied the charges. Of course, this has caused many issues for the reputation of the industry leader.

Ghosn is reported to have said that he had no intention to under-report earnings and that the misconduct claims are baseless. It should be noted that the ex-chairman is facing allegations from prosecutors as well as the company itself. While the prosecution says that Ghosn received an inappropriate amount of money for a previous transaction, only half of which he reported, Nissan internal investigation alleges that the chairman had used company money for other purposes. Nissan is said to have appointed a secret team for analyzing the activities of the chairman.

The arrest and the legal implications of Carlos Ghosn would have a noticeable impact on Nissan as well as the ongoing alliance between Nissan, Renault, and Mitsubishi. He was one of the pioneers of the alliance and he also had a significant role in improving the situation of Nissan. It should be noted that the allegations and the arrest happened at such a time when the future of the alliance could be at stake. Nissan, the company, seems to continue the legal battle, as yet another damages suit would be filed against Mr. Ghosn for the inappropriate use of company funds. Ghosn is now held in custody in a detection center, located at Tokyo.
