Fortnite has been getting a lot of updates lately and Epic Games is not planning to stop the trend anytime in the future. According to the latest updates via the official Twitter handle of Fortnite, the game will see the launch of a new weapon — a sword. The developers call the weapon as something fit for a king. Considering that Fortnite revolves around shooting-based equipment, this is going to bring some changes.

This announcement comes right after the amazing Season 7 of Fortnite, which is bringing an amazing set of features to the gameplay. For instance, the developers had added elements like planes and revamped island where the games may take place. While these features have been coherent towards the common nature of what Fortnite offers, the sword is something really different to start with.

As said earlier, the current gameplay of Fortnite revolves around shooting and building, which uses the new type of equipment for attacks. In light of this, a weapon like the sword is not something likely to be seen in the scene. At the same time, we cannot discard the fact that Epic Games has included so many features like the Creative Mode in the Season 7 of Fortnite.

Of course, the tweet on the official handle was just a teaser of what’s in works. Fortnite will have to wait for some more time until the weapon is available for day-to-day gaming. The developers have not mentioned when it will be available, though. Whenever launched, the weapon is going to add a new perspective to the whole dynamics of Fortnite combat.

The past few weeks have been quite happening for Fortnite as well as Epic Games in general. While the game has received a Minecraft-like update and fan-created show-off area, Epic Games has launched the official game store for Mac and PC.
