Reddit is launching a new video feed feature. The video feed is exclusively for its iOS app. The feed is similar to the video feed feature of TikTok. Reddit is an online discussion forum. The company said that the new feature will make it easier to watch content. Users can access the content in one place with the latest feature. The feature will pull content from subreddits users follow. Reddit said that the feature will enhance visibility. The video feed feature on Reddit appears to be inspired by TikTok. The Chinese video-sharing platform offers a video feed that engages more audiences and boosts visibility. Reddit’s video feed interface is just like the one on TikTok. TikTok’s growing popularity has forced competitors to launch new features to retain the user base.

Reddit has also added a new button to access the feature. The button is located near the search bar. Users will have to tap the button once to access the feature. The app will then show full-screen videos. The content will be displayed in a vertical format. It will be scrollable. The interface will have playback controls. Reddit has also added upvoting and downvoting features. There are separate buttons for both. Users can also post comments and share videos. Reddit said that the video feed will not show videos only from the subreddits an account follows. It will also show suggested content from other channels. The company didn’t share the detail about the algorithm that will pick videos from other channels.

Reddit said that the video feed will be rolled out to Android users. It, however, didn’t share any timeline. Reddit has been testing the interface since last year. The company said that it is working on a mission to increase engagement and discover new content and communities. It is currently developing a unified video player to match users’ expectations. Reddit launched the native video platform in 2017. Users can upload MP4 and MOV files. It also allows users to live-stream videos. The company claims that it has 50 million daily active visitors. It hosts more than 100,000 active subreddits. Other social media platforms like Snapchat and Instagram have also revamped their applications to make videos prominent.
