Slack, popular team management and project collaboration app are getting the dark mode for smartphone apps. The developer has started to roll out the feature for Android and iOS users. This is the beta test for the dark mode, so only the beta testers enrolled on the App, and Google Play Store are eligible to activate the same. Slack joins the ranks of Mail app for Windows 10 and Facebook Messenger to have the Dark Mode for beta testers.

As this is only the update for Beta users, the normal users won’t be able to activate the dark features. Popular news websites related to iOS and Android spotted the beta updates rolling in from the respective app store. To enable the dark mode on iOS and Android, the user needs to be the part of Beta testers community. He/she can do the same from App Settings and tapping the “Join Beta” section. After joining the Beta mode, the users will receive a new update notification, clicking on it will update the application. Once updated, the users can spot the “Dark Mode” option in the settings and turn it ON.

Dark mode feature is getting popular amongst the users as it is good to reduce the eye strain and also to reduce the battery consumption. Most of the favorite companies are opting to introduce the dark mode on their website and smartphone applications. With this move of introducing the Dark mode, many of the project teams will benefit as it will not only save the battery and reduce the eye strain but also improve the UI a lot. Slack is not the only one in this race, as Google is planning to roll out system-wide Dark mode in the Android Q update. Also, Facebook is testing the Dark Mode for Beta users in its Messenger app.
