Smartphone has become so central to our daily lives that not many have either the will-power or ability to live without them. Vitaminwater, however, is searching for some people who can do that for a period of one year. The company has launched a contest named #NoPhoneForAYear, which demands the participants to stay for a year without the use of smartphones, in order to win the prize money of $100,000.

Yes, Vitaminwater is offering such a huge amount for those who can survive an entire year without using a smart mobile device throughout the period. Of course, the company has set up some serious rules for this contest, given that the prize money is so huge. However, most of these rules have not been revealed to the public. Vitaminwater, however, has invited applications.

As a part of the general filtering process, interested applicants will have to write a Tweet or Instagram post, explaining how they are planning to spend one year without smartphones. Original entries would be judged by experienced judges, who will be looking for the elements of presentation, humor and brand value in those tweets or posts. A single entrant would be selected afterward.

Although nothing has been specified, it’s clear that Vitaminwater will sign a contract with the entrant, who will have to comply with some additional rules as well. It is said that the company would provide a feature-phone to the contestant so that emergency contact would not be a problem. Once the period has started, the contestant has to stay away from smartphones as well as tablet PCs.

It is also likely that the contestant can make use of devices like laptops and desktops. They cannot even think of scrolling through the Facebook newsfeed or trending stuff on Reddit, once they have signed up, though.
