Apple is working on multiple projects and is spending cash like water. The company is currently working on Apple Arcade project, in which the users will get access to more than 100 arcade games. According to the reports, Apple will spend nearly $500 million for the development of 100+ arcade games. Apple has already spent billions of dollars on creating original content for Apple TV+ streaming service. Also, they have bought “Texture,” which became the Apple News. This time, $500 million seems like the amount Apple is going to spend to create a new service for its customers.

In the Event in March, Apple announced that they are bringing in the Arcade service for customers, but did not share any details about the same. But now, we are learning from the reports that they are going to spend several million dollars on each game. Also, Apple will pay extra incentives to the developers if the game remains exclusive to Apple’s ecosystem. Apple is restricting the developers from publishing the developed games on the Google Play Store, which is an obvious step taken by the company to keep games exclusive on the platform.

Not allowing developers to publish the games on Android does not mean Apple is restricting the developers to release the games elsewhere. The developers are free to distribute the games on any other platform, except the mobile operating system as Apple will retain the “Mobile Exclusive” rights on the developed arcade games. The Apple Arcade program is being designed to dominate the App Store with freemium games. Also, Apple users can pay monthly subscription fees to get access to all of the arcade games. That’s why Apple is forcing the developers to keep the games iOS only and not publish them on Android OS. As of now, there is no information on the exact pricing of the subscription plans or the release date of this service.
