Baidu, a Chinese Internet giant and Ford, the global car manufacturer, are working together to deploy some autonomous vehicles in China, reports say. Plans for the project have been almost finalized and the testing of project is to start by the end of this year. It means yet another big partnership is making its way to the big world of autonomous vehicles and driverless cars. The announcement was made through the official blog of Ford, which said that the company is excited about the co-operation for building the bright future of brand-new transportation.

“The collaboration is aligned with Ford’s plans to further advance and promote autonomous vehicle technologies, supporting the company’s vision of designing “smart vehicles for a smart world. Working with a leading tech partner like Baidu allows us to leverage new opportunities in China to offer innovative solutions that improve safety, convenience and the overall mobility experience,” reads the blog post from Ford. It is clear that Baidu would be a great help in establishing the path for such an opportunity for the team to go ahead and deploy the vehicles at the earliest time possible.

It must be noted that Ford is not the only company that has forayed into the market of autonomous driving vehicles and related technologies. In fact, many partnerships have been achieved in order to get autonomous vehicles on street as earlier as possible. Keeping the same trend on, the Baidu-Ford initiative wants to bring the L4 within the two-year period. There is no scarcity for autonomous driving technology but companies are now trying to implement the technologies in the most effective way possible, which is more of practical solution as of now. Baidu, on the other hand, is developing a driving open platform, which would be much beneficial for both parties.
