Chinese trade negotiators who earlier this week came in Washington to discuss the trade deals have suddenly changed their plans. At first, they were going to visit Montana and meet US farmers, but it seems like trade negotiators decided to cut their US trip by going there. According to the Montana Farm Bureau Federation, Chinese trade negotiators chose to go back to China earlier than planned. They canceled their US farm visits suddenly. Montana’s Farm Bureau Federation received notification that Chinse trade negotiators have canceled their pre-planned trip, but they did not receive any reason behind it.

Not only Montana but Nebraska’s agriculture department also said the same thing that Chinese trade negotiators canceled the visits to their farms too. Sony Purdue who is the US Secretary of Agriculture last Thursday confirmed that China trade dealers would be meeting with US farmers. The reason behind such a meeting was to allow Chinese officials to build goodwill with US farmers.

The earlier plan of Chinese delegates included an agricultural visit to Montana, Nebraska, and Omaha, which was confirmed by US officials many weeks ago. However, now because of the sudden change in their plans, the Chinese delegate decided to cut their US trip immediately after meeting and discussing trade deals. Now many speculations are going on in the market about this decision of Chinese envoys. Since the start of the trade war, China has stopped purchasing US agricultural products which are significantly affecting this sector. Recently Trump decided to delay the increased taxation in Chinese goods and services as a gesture of goodwill. However, it seems like Chinese trade negotiators who came in the US had different plans already. Still, US farmers who might have wanted to get an opportunity to meet with Chinese delegates will have to wait for a few days till the official trade talk happens.
