Facebook’s Portal Video calling devices are getting new models this year as Facebook announced today. Vice President of AR/VR, Andrew Bosworth announced the plans of Facebook to launch the latest models of Portal Video chatting devices. In a press conference at a coding conference in Phoenix, Arizona, Andrew Bosworth announced the plans. In the conference, Bosworth announced that the company is considering to launch new models to compete with the others and also to keep up with the devices that have modern hardware.

On a piece of hardware, making the human connection for video chatting is the priority, and Facebook wants to refine that functionality with new models, new design, and improved hardware. Portal video calling devices are made primarily to cater to video chatting needs. With Facebook’s feature of live video and voice calls, the devices can contact other users. For the businesses and the professionals who need constant access to the video calling. Currently, the company has implemented the default Facebook Video calling feature in it and will soon integrate the customized version for calling. The device is currently being sold in the United States of America and other countries.

Facebook launched the Portal devices back in November 2018. It provides a way for users to make encrypted video calls. The registered Facebook users are benefited from this device and service. The smart camera on the Portal devices allowed the users to keep track of the face while they are on the call and doing some work simultaneously. The unique feature paired with the full encryption for calls helped portal devices to gain popularity in the market. Bosman announced about the new form factors in the Portal+ devices but did not share any other information about the same or any of the hardware changes.
